About this edition
Festival Boreal 2026 is the 19th edition of the Los Silos festival, running 16–20 September; the confirmed main music days are Friday 18 and Saturday 19 September. The music programme spans world, dub, electronic, hip-hop and Latin American sounds, and the wider festival also carries an exhibition, a dance residency, the Premio Boreal, workshops and family activity. Tickets are via Tickety.

Meet the artists

A seven-piece band from Soweto, formed in 2003. Their sound is built on traditional whistle, percussion, bass and guitar, and they sing in eleven languages.

Formed in Bogotá and led by Andrea Echeverri and Héctor Buitrago. Their 1996 album La Pipa de la Paz, produced by Phil Manzanera, was nominated for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album at the 1998 Grammy Awards, and the band is marking that album's thirtieth anniversary through 2026. Their album Genes Rebeldes was nominated in the same category in 2026. They headline the Saturday.

Add Fuel Solo Show
ExhibitionA solo exhibition by the Portuguese artist Diogo Machado (Add Fuel) at the Sala de Exposiciones Pérez Enríquez, open from 14 to 27 September. The work reworks the Portuguese azulejo tile tradition through graffiti, urban culture and pop graphics.

- The festival runs official shuttle buses on both concert days.A return seat costs €15.Departures15:00 from Palmetum in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 15:20 from Leocadio Machado in La Laguna, 15:45 from El Trompo in La Orotava.Returns leave Los Silos at 02:15 after the Friday night and 03:15 after the Saturday night.Places are limited and must be booked in advance through Tickety.

Catering favours kilómetro-cero produce — sourced on the island rather than shipped in.
Night noise and island wildlife
Amplified sound is silenced at night and daytime formats are preferred, to protect nocturnal island species.

Single-use plastics are eliminated across the site.
Awards and recognition
Premio Boreal 2026
The 2026 Premio Boreal goes to the writer Andrea Abreu, author of Panza de burro and Pajaritos preñados. The award recognises professional work aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals; Abreu is its sixth recipient.
